Walter Wasacz comes from a Polish family but he was born and raised in Hamtramck. His mother was born in the US but as a child she came with her parents to Poland. In 1938, she decided to go back to America.

Walter does not speak Polish but he is interested in his origins and he visits the country of his grandfathers. He is a journalist and he writes about culture and music to "Metro Detroit", especially about techno music.
